Bimetallic screw barrel, as the name implies, is composed of two metals. The alloy is used for reinforcement to improve corrosion resistance and wear resistance. It is suitable for adding glass fiber and stone powder to plastic molding. The bimetallic screw barrel can effectively prevent corrosion. The chromium is chemically stable and will not affect by sulfides, alkalis, nitric acid, and most organic acids. Therefore, the bimetallic screw barrel can prevent corrosion and rust and can make the appearance. The hardness is improved, the beauty is increased, and the decoration effect is achieved.
With the development of technology, to improve production efficiency and reduce production costs in plastic processing, many manufacturers use injection molded parts with good wear and corrosion resistance-screw barrels. In the past, the nitriding method was generally used to produce a layer of hardness on the surface of the metal. However, due to process reasons, this nitride layer is very thin, both 0.5-0.7mm, and the wear resistance is not long. To increase the high hardness, bimetal materials and processes are now used to solve this problem. After using bimetal, the thickness of the hardness layer can reach 1.5-3.0mm. At the same time, the hardness also increases correspondingly, which can greatly improve the contact wear resistance of the bimetallic screw barrel and the barrel, which is generally about 12 times that of nitriding materials. These advantages have a significant effect on improving production efficiency and product quality. In addition, the use of bimetallic barrels with nitriding screws will greatly increase its service life. I still think that the bimetallic screw barrel is much more durable than the general ones, especially the injection molding manufacturers that produce engineering plastics that are suitable for processing products with bimetallic screw barrels. Bimetal is many times more durable than nitriding. It is not that its hardness is extremely high. The wear resistance and corrosion resistance of bimetal are good, but the price of bimetal is more expensive. On the whole, bimetal is more cost-effective.
Bimetallic screw barrel has the following advantages:
1. Chrome plating makes the surface finish of the bimetallic screw barrel better;
2, will not rust, there will be no rust spots;
3. The deformation of parts is small during the plating process.
4. If the size of the part is not in place, it can be achieved by adding a few wires of chromium. In the visible light range, the reflectivity of chromium is about 65%, which is between silver (88%) and nickel (55%). Because chromium does not change color, it can maintain its reflectivity for a long time and is better than silver and nickel.
